Fitting Mocassins
Ideally handmade mocassins should fit comfortably snug. If
they are too loose, your deerskin leather mocassins will not
be able to properly conform to the shape of your feet. The
unique suppleness of Deerskin allows
mocassins to mold and contour to feet for maximum comfort.
As deerskin accommodates sizes more easily, Footwear
by Footskins only stocks whole sizes in a medium width.
We recommend you buy your normal shoe size. If you wear a
half size, it is usually better to go down a half size since
our footwear runs slightly large. If your feet are wide, you
may want to go up a size. A functional lace on our slip-on
styles also helps to adjust your mocassins for a truer fit.
 Caring
for Handmade Deerskin Mocassins
Caring for your American made deerskin mocassins is rather
simple. To clean away most soiling, spot wash the mocassins
with a mild soap. If they get wet, dry your mocassins at room
temperature only and avoid direct heat to prevent evaporation
of the leather's natural oils. We do not recommend using polishes,
oils, or waterproofing as it can adversely affect how breathable
your deerskin moccasins will be.
